On Sunday, April 13th, Indie Grits saw Slow Food Columbia return for the fifth year in a row to provide a massive feast which included “food that is good for them, good for the people who grow it, and good for the planet”–the goal of the slow food movement.
Chefs from throughout Columbia prepared a dish that had to feature at least one local, sustainable major ingredient. Our chefs got to enjoy some friendly competition while guests enjoyed the innovative, quality dishes that resulted!
This year, guests enjoyed complimentary hors d’oeuvres by the Midlands’ most sustainable chefs, including those from Terra, Motor Supply Co. Bistro, Rosso Trattoria,Bourbon, Baan Sawan Thai Bistro, Spotted Salamander Catering, Rosewood Market and Deli, Scott Hall Catering, The Oak Table, Whole Foods, Saluda’s, Good Life Café, Our Local Catch, Charleston Cooks!, Jake’s, Tombo Grille and more in a casual setting with lively tunes and a cash bar by The Whig featuring South Carolina-brewed beers and carefully selected wines.
