We’ve added a second screening of Cotton Road due to a sell out crowd for opening night!
Americans consume nearly 20 billion new articles of clothing each year. Over one billion of those are produced in China. Few of us know how our clothes are made, much less who makes them. Cotton Road explores timely issues of globalized trade and labor by charting the transnational movement of cotton from rural South Carolina farms to urban Chinese factories. An artful contribution to the ongoing international conversation regarding our rapidly changing economic ecosystem, Kissel’s elegant documentary begs us to consider how we are connected to one another through the things we consume.
