Indie Grits 2016 Film Submissions Are Now Open!

Calling all filmmakers,

There is a bubbling in the river. Something slinks under the rushing tide, its massive fin slicing through foamy rapids, like a torpedo, hungry, zooming— oh, hey, it’s Indie Grits 2016! It’s almost that time again, when the sky opens up to the heavens of weirdness for five days and lets loose experimental art, film, music, and tech over the city of Columbia, SC. And guess what? This year is the 10 year anniversary of Indie Grits, so we have a big one planned for you all.

The time has finally come. Submission are open today!
Let’s get cracking, and make this the best fest yet!

While we love the Nickelodeon and Main Street, this year, the festival is going to take place entirely on our lovely Congaree River, as opposed to having the Nickelodeon as our headquarters. Outdoor screenings, art installations, and concerts will be going down, all in the view of our most beautiful and natural characteristic. Secondly, this year, the festival is FREE for everyone! This is our way of saying thanks for nine amazing years of Indie Grits—a gift to everyone who stuck with us from our most humble of beginnings.

“River towns are comely, clean, well built, and pleasing to the eye, and cheering to the spirit, as reposeful as a dreamland, nothing worldly about it . . . nothing to hang a fret or a worry upon.”
-Mark Twain
