New Orleans Roadshow
December 1, 2015 @ Antenna Art Gallery
Jam-packed with raw weirdness, barreling over hills and through valleys, wobbling and pulsing with pure titillating starforce, it’s the Indie Grits Roadshow! Featuring award-winning short films, as well as a live performance or two, this event was hosted by festival organizers Seth Gadsden and Pedro LopezDeVictoria with a special performance by visioneer and master of nasty, Toby Lou of the Weekly Revue.
August 8, 2015 @ Eyedrum
On August 8th, we held our very first Indie Grits Roadshow for the upcoming 10th annual Indie Grits Festival in 2016!
Working together with the fabulous Contraband Cinema–an Atlanta-based microcinema group–we used the rooftop of Eyedrum to showcase the world of Indie Grits. Featuring short films from previous years, a taste of live music and poetry, and the ebullient vibes of our past festivals, guests enjoyed festivities, drinks, and the Atlanta skyline with us through the night.
We were joined by Atlanta locals, Salsa Chest, who kicked off the night with some sundown serenades involving precise choreography and cosmic synth riffs. We played short films from Josh Yates, and Jen West – who were in attendance. As well, we filled the night up with a spectrum–experimental, heartbreaking, straight-laced, documentary, narrative–all sorts of Gritsy movies from various previous years. It was a spectacular event befitting a spectacular city.
March 28, 2015 @ Redux Contemporary Art Center
